We were a group of families who stayed in 3 wooden shacks. We loved the unspoilt setting of them and thought the ‘shabby chic’ décor was fab. Lots of attention to detail had been thought about. Once the fire was going they were really warm inside and provided hot water easily. The children loved the bed layouts and ladders and the lack of electricity was exciting for them with our torches and lanterns going. Café and staff all very friendly and breakfast food was great. As a family, we first visited the Bivouac in Masham when they first opened in April 2012. The kids were desperate to take their friends, so I booked for us to go during half term. Once again, we were not disappointed. The staff are so helpful and friendly. The shack itself was cosy and warm and we had plenty of hot water. Lots of board games and cards kept the children off their ‘gadgets’ for the duration of the stay, which was fab! No electricity was a great experience for the kids! Plenty of tea lights provided but don’t forget your torches!
We all enjoyed a lovely Full English Breakfast the next day in the fantastic cafe. Thank you! We will be back! Feb 2014
Had an amazing time. The setting was idyllic and it was great getting back to basics with no electricity - what better way to enjoy a log cabin than with fire and candle light. Even enjoyed the bracing showers!
The staff were so friendly and helpful and nothing was too much bother, particularly the cafe staff who were so accommodating in the lead up to the break and throughout.
The cabins were great. They were equipped with everything we needed but retained the feeling that we were in the middle of nowhere. Would definitely return and would recommend this to anyone! Thanks for a memorable weekend! Oct 2013
